International Women's Day!!!

Sorry I have been off the blog scene for a few days, my laptop broke!! I had to buy a new one, which arrived yesterday so after countless hours playing with it, I though its about time I did some blogging.
And what perfect opportunity to blog than about International Women's day! A day to recollect the struggle for women's rights that many have faced, to empower other generations and nations to value their women and to look within ourselves on how we grow as the powerful women we are!
*Michelle Obama, Catherine Middleton and Samantha Cameron(wife of UK prime minister David Cameron)*
Here are examples of some truly incredible women, regardless whether this is through marriage or success of their own; they are proof that this is a collective fight for equality everywhere. They are also incredibly fashionable!

1. Michelle Obama
The current 1st lady of the United States was once a lawyer who studied at Princeton and Harvard Law school before meeting her husband, President Obama. She helped campaign for her husband's presidential bid, and upon winning the election she has remained an important figure as a role model for women, an advocate for poverty awareness, nutrition and welfare. She is known internationally as a fashion icon; who says you cant wear heels in politics!

2. Natalie Massenet
To me, Natalie Massenet is an example of a hard working woman with initiative and and a brilliant idea. The pioneer of Net-a-Porter, an online store for luxury designer goods. She sold her share of the company for an estimated £50 million, yet she stills stands as executive chairman. She is known to be one of the most powerful women in the UK in the fashion industry!

3. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
Wife of Prince William and soon to be mother Kate Middleton went from a normal country girl to royalty. With her graceful manners, she has had a major impact in the British fashion industry which has been termed the 'Kate Middleton effect'. She was also selected as one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. Apart from her many royal duties, she has involved herself with many charities and was an Ambassador of the 2012 Olympics.

4. Simply known as Adele
At the mere age of 19, she released her debut album which went on to receive commercial and critical success thus winning her 2 Grammy Awards. Her next album 21 was an extraordinary success, certifying the album a Diamond certificate as well as numerous mentions in the Guinness World record. Recently she received a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for Skyfall. She was listed at number five on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Music and Time named her one of the most influential people in the world. What I love about her is how modest and funny she is, also she really knows how to rock a black dress!

5. Sheikha Mozah
Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned is the second wife Sheikh Hamad Khalifa, Emir of the State of Qatar. Unlike many other monarchical wives in the Middle East, Sheikha Mozah has been a high-profile figure in her nations politics and society, actively involved in Qatar's government. She is the driving in education welfare. She has also been named as one of Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women. To me she is a style icon who knows how to dress impeccably and yet maintains her modesty.
